Lifford Ddoncaster was driving through the town of Valebridge one morning on his way to the office and he stopped to post a letter. Doncaster put the telephone down. He felt that there was something wrong. It happened that he knew Herbert Gate and the also knew that Gate’s car was red in colour, wholesale designer handbags and the car that he touched in Longdale Street was a blue one.
